When parents face difficulties with infant and child sleep issues, they can often feel helpless and alone. Although it seems like everyone has advice to give, it seems like nobody offers a definitive plan as to how to get your child to sleep through the night.

Sleep Sense seminars are designed to provide a comfortable environment for small groups of parents to get together and learn about sleep. The goal of the seminar is to provide you with a supportive environment in which to develop a plan to help your child learn healthy and restful sleep habits.

Below is a basic outline of what to expect during the seminar:

  • Introductions.
  • General facts about adult sleep.
  • Coffee break.
  • Infant sleep facts.
  • What the leading sleep experts say about sleeping through the night.
  • Negative effects of disruptive sleep habits on the entire family.
  • Establishing a fun and workable bedtime routine.
  • Developing your own "Sleep Plan" for your child.
  • Possible pitfalls and how to overcome them.
  • Focus on naptime: How often, and for how long,
should your child be sleeping during the day?
  • Question period and visiting time

Cost: Sleep Sense seminars are priced at $100 per couple, with light snacks provided. This price includes e-mail follow-up support. Please be aware that seminars fill up quickly, and that attendance is limited to ensure personalized attention and a comfortable setting.
